Big news: Google recently announced that it will no longer support Google Drive on December 11th 2017. It officially shuts down on March 12th 2018.
Beginning in October, current Mac/PC Drive app users will be notified and encouraged to download and use Google’s new product, Backup and Sync, instead.
According to the Google blog, Backup and Sync is a “simpler, speedier and more reliable way to protect the files and photos that mean the most to you.” It’s basically Google Drive and Google Photos combined into one tool.
You can download Backup and Sync here.

If you’re worried about losing your photos and videos during the transition, you can archive your files using Yours.co.
We’ll connect to your Google Drive account and burn all of your precious photos and videos onto discs that’ll stay good up to 1,000 years. That way, no matter what happens to your cloud service, you can be confident that your memories are safe for years to come.
